Connie Baker receiving
the Agent of Change AwardConnie Baker, of the Elmhurst branch, received the Agent of Change award at our AAUW-IL convention on May 1. Connie was instrumental in creating the Dare to Dream: Get Educated conference for Latina middle-schoolers and their mothers. The girls are encouraged through workshops and Latina role-models to finish high school and consider college. Connie's determination, enthusiasm, and dedication made the successful conference a reality!

Community Action Grants
Has the EF only partially funded your Community Action Grant? AAUW-IL will now consider funding any AAUW-IL branch's Community Action Grant.
Read about the first grant AAUW-IL funded -- a conference for middle school Latinas and their mothers: Dare to Dream: Get Educated!
To qualify, the branch must complete and submit the application required by the Educational Foundation, then apply in writing to the AAUW-IL President describing the project and the amount needed to complete it. The Board of Directors will then vote on the award. E-mail the AAUW-IL President for more information.
