Welcome!
AAUW Elmhurst Area Branch is dedicated to the AAUW mission of advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.

Branch meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month from September through May.  For the location and time of meetings, please check the Meeting/Program schedule.

Visitors and prospective members are welcome to all of our meetings.  If you are interested in joining our branch, please come to one of our meetings and ask for a membership application.

Elmhurst Branch Philanthropic Activities
For over 50 years, the Elmhurst Area Branch has sponsored an annual Used Book Sale. This is our primary philanthropic activity. The dates for the 2010 sale are August 12, 13, and 14 at Conrad Fisher Elementary School. The funds from this sale are used in two ways. First, a donation is made to the AAUW Education Foundation and second,  two women students from Elmhurst College are awarded scholarships to the AAUW National Conference for College Women Student Leaders.

In December, Elmhurst Branch Members wrap books at Boarders in Oak Brook. Funds from this activity are donated to the Human Development Foundation. This organization builds secular schools for girls (and now boys) in Pakistan. Our member Azra Haque, is on the board of the foundation.

Elmhurst Branch Activities
