This conference is designed for young women in 6th, 7th and 8th grades who are curious, welcome a challenge and like to have fun! Parents and educators are invited to attend sessions designed just for them to learn how to keep girls on track for success in math, science and technology.

See what AAUW has to offer its members!!

We have many fun activities from couples dinners to discussing mystery novels to quilting to antiquing. We have fellowships and scholarships through the Educational Foundation and funds for plaintiffs in sexual harassment cases through the Legal Advocacy Fund. We encourage young girls to study science and math. We are the October Book Sale. We influence legislation on women's issues.

We are friendships and support groups. Join AAUW.

Membership

Membership is open to those graduates holding an associate or equivalent, baccalaureate, or higher degree from a qualified educational institution. Undergraduates enrolled in regionally accredited two- or four-year institutions may become Student Affiliate Members. The Springfield Branch also welcomes those without degrees as Community Members. They have full local branch membership privileges except that they may not vote or hold board positions.

New members are welcome at any time. Renewals of membership dues are payable by June 1 for the membership year of July 1 through June 30. Membership dues for 2009-2010 are $73. Student Affiliate dues are $20, and dues for Community Membership are $45. Life Membership dues are $24 year, which is the Branch and State dues portions, after making a one-time payment of $980 (the Association dues of $49 times 20 years).

A member may attend any branch or interest group meetings. Guests are welcome to attend any two functions before joining. If you are interested in joining Springfield AAUW, please contact Membership Vice-President, Judith Schmidt, who will be happy to give you information about the Springfield AAUW chapter. If a member's name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or degree information changes, please notify the membership vice-president promptly.
